Hi
I recently downloaded RegistryCleanFixer, it told me I had 365 problems but to fix them you have to purchase the software, now I'm trying to remove it and I can't! Its appear after I boot up and its not in Program Files or Add/Remove Programs? How can I uninstall it?
My laptop is running really slow now and this is possibly why?
Also after doing a scan with CCleaner, I clicked on the 'Registry' tab and scanned for issues, then fix scanned issues, then when it said 'Do you want to backup changes to the registry' I clicked no by mistake !!! Then I clicked fix all selected issues!! Not sure if this is the normal procedure or do you think have I done any harm?
Was thinking on doing a system restore, I'm using Windows XP.

PC Tools spyware doctor is free to download and use and is part of Google Pack.
AVG Antispyware is free to download and use as is Superantispyware.
IObit Advanced windows care personal is also free.
You can also download and use PCtune up utilities free for 30 days. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Its a real pain trying to get rid of this RegistryCleanFixer and I'm not sure if I've cause anymore problems by not clicking 'yes' to back up changes to the Registry.
Should I use the Registry tab on CCleaner again to scan for problems or just one of those that you mentioned?0 -

Can't do any harm by doing a registry scan with Ccleaner.
You could run Spybot in safe mode.

Its a good idea to have a couple of antispyware programmes, one rarely catches them all. I use Superantispyware, again run it after rebooting your PC in safe mode.
You might then want do run hijackthis, and post the results on the forum, there are a few experts on here(not me) who will be able to analyse the results for you. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
The easiest way to return your computer to the status quo ante is to use System Restore. Make sure that you choose a date before you installed that rogue registry cleaner!0

When C cleaner scans the registry its only looking for minor issues and does not go deep enough to go into spyware etc .
When asked do you want to save the Yes just saves the files before you repaired them in case of problems later you can go back to My Docs folder and revert the files you fix to pre fix state .
Most of these so called registry clean tools are a danger they are either fake sales jobs or have the habit of deleting registry entries that are needed .Its an are for novices to keep away from .
You have installed the program i take it before the registry backup . In which case ignore it or delete the actual registry backup file you saved , But not the actual registry itself .
