Sound softwear...

I'm looking for a piece of softwear that will give the effect of 5.1 surround sound but using only 2 speakers? any ideas?

What's your soundcard/chip? Most soundcard drivers are written to make the most of the setup you've got, if you have two speakers it will apply the sound in the best way for them. Otherwise I'm not sure what you mean by a 5.1 effect, as by definition you're not going to get better sound out of your existing speakers. I don't know of separate software specifically but you'll probably want to look for software that has "Dolby Virtual Speaker" included in the technology but depends what you want it for, games, music, dvds?
