I just won something I think, but can't have it.

I just got a withheld phonecall from someone that sounded like the said Mitel, or Mitre, or something, saying that "you entered a competition with us?" which is said, "yes", of course not having a clue which competition they were talking about as I enter so many.

They then asked me how old my children were. When I said I haven't got any children they hung up.

I normally don't enter competitions that require you to have kids, or meet certain criteria that I don't match, so I presume I missed something on this one, but can't for the life of me work out what it is, I've scanned through my subscribed threads in the control panel, but it's the proverbial needle in the haystack.

Maybe I won, maybe I didn't, but I'm still empty handed. I hope it wasn't a fortune anyway.

it'll be from 'Mychild' who have been harrassing folk for the last few weeks - they call & ask if you have children so that they can sell you a course for them costing £80!!

    Avoid like the plague!!

If you do a search under 'mychild' on the forums you'll see lots of very unhappy comments from MSE'ers.
The Rock Chick, she say 'courtesy costs nowt' - spread the word! :D
  • Ah yeah, that's gotta be it. Strange I can't remember entering a mychild comp.

Oh well, I'm glad that I don't have kids then :) at least it wasn't a bucket load of cash I missed out on.

    Thanks.

nope - there's loadsa people on here who didn't enter that particualar comp (me included) - they must have got everyones details from other comps they have posted. Very cheeky - and if they find out you have got kids they're really pushy too.

i had a call last night, and i googled the number, and it was a number that had been linked to my child.it was 02074309440.

well i had entered the orlando comp earlier, the one where you had to say
" drillbit drillbit drillbit, i want to go to orlando" if anyone rung,so i said to the kids if the phone rings, don't say hello or anything, just say this and i put the piece of paper with what they had to say at the side of the phone.
so when the phone rung with this number that james didn't recognise, thats what he said.anyway they just hung up.
i couldn't stop laughing i bet they'd thought they'd got through to the loony bin or something they didn't call back anyway,i wonder why :rotfl: :rotfl:

Called me this morning, and said oh you entered a competition to wins maths tutition for your child? I said no, sorry I don't think a 1year old would have much use with that "OH sorry must be a mistake" hang up.

I knew it was a scam from reading the posts on here earlier, so thanks folks :)
