I would have said completely pointless.
If you car is damaged in an accident it is almost 100% certain it will be written off.
You will get no courtesy car and you will get back the value of the car minus the excess, which will be virtually nothing.
It's not really worth getting fire & theft either.
However you should be aware that sometimes 3rd party fire & theft can be cheaper than 3rd party only as there aren't many 3rd party only policies to choose from so it restricts your choice.

It's also worth checking out quidco.
I got £120 cashback on on £150 policy.

No one company is the best.
It depends on location, age and driving history.

You will need to use scraper sites to get the best quote.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/compare-cheap-car-insurance
Then use a cash back site to see if the best quotes will get you an extra back.
    http://www.quidco.com/finance/life-auto/highest-rates-currency/

Then go to the best quote site and REDO the quote to make sure the scraper sites weren't taking a cut.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
