in Credit cards
son moved abroad has 2 credit cards which i have paid as he earns little at his new job. Now finding it hard to keep up payments as have my own problems.
when he phoned mbna and asked them to freeze interest and make a payment plan and gave them his expenses which showed he could not pay them much. I offered to make payments on the same conditions of £50 a month which is a third the payment. He was told not able to make a deal as not in any arrears and to let go in arrears. I would prefer not to do this but how do I go about getting through to them that they at least will get something this way?

Most creditors won't make an payment arrangement (except for a very limited time ) until you stop paying and they will then default the account.
They will then agree a payment arrangement although after a while they will probably sell the debt to a debt collection agency.
This will trash his credit record for 6 years.0 -
and what would happen then espescialy if he is staying abroad anyway.
Would they accept a payment plan and interest freeze
from myself as i have told him to write to them and say i can discuss the account0 -
if registered to my house could it affect me myself or my adress and put on blacklist?0

They have his address abroad as his account is up to date as I have been paying it from my own address but all uk post comes to this address0
