recommend - bridal shops

Hi all,

Was doing some googling and got inspired by a thread I found on another forum and thought we should do one here. Have done a search and cannot find anything, mods - apologies if I'm wrong :o

Just thought it would be a good idea for us all to recommend bridal shops in our area (or online) that we've had a good experience with. Even if you didn't end up buying your dress there, just somewhere that gave you good service, made you feel special, etc.
I think the best way to do this is post your area and county in bold first, so for mine I will be saying:

Gravesend, Kent
Taffeta bridal. She's great one to one service, and over 300 dresses and you can try as many as you like!

Thanks ;)

I got my dress and my bridesmaids dresses from here - a very personal service, Clare the owner made buying the dresses every bit as special as I'd hoped it would be.

Wedding Belles in Banbury - as featured on IPTW (the bit where Ruth was in a wedding frock :rotfl:) - is where I bought my dress and my BMs dress. Very good prices and often have sales on.

NOT recommended - Wedding Centre in Marlow - been there a couple of times - always made to feel like I was something dragged in under someones shoe... Not the way to treat people looking to spend hundreds if not thousands of pounds...

Grafton manor bridal shop :T Nicola is wonderful, very professional, welcoming and genuine . The shop is beautiful, very clean and large, and only individual appointments. Best shops I have been to and I'm going back to get my dress from there-despite seeing it a little cheaper somewhere else. The service I received from Nicola make the extra £50 worth it!

    http://www.graftonmanorhotel.co.uk/w_dress_shop.html bravo!

Not recommended, Shropshire County Brides-put me in a size 16 dress (I'm an 8) which is fine-but didn't pin it, then left me stood in it (dropping down) while she went to have a cup of tea. Told me I could only try 4 dresses on as she wanted to close early, then put a dress on and the zip was broken-the girl said 'oh this zip is broke, but it's nothing to do with you' (er obviously-you have just taken it off the hanger!), then she tried to pin it together and shoved the pin in me.

The dress I am having is over £2000 and didn't expect to be treated like that.
