Just got my first bill...

26-01-08 to 25/03/08
Gas £98.57, elec £71.43, total inc discount and VAT £176.76

I have no idea what is a reasonable amount to be paying and am unsure as to how to compare this amount on uswitch.

I think the gas price is 3.023 and the electric price 10.340 then there is standing charge 13.95 and 18.56 respectively.

Can anyone help please?

£80 a month in winter is less than the UK average, however lots more info needed.

    Company?

    Area?

    House/Flat? Big? Small?

    How many kWh for each?

Well that doesnt seem too high.

The prices are for the pre and post price rise tariff.

In 2 months you have used 3,047kWh gas and 595kWh electricity.

It is not possible to use those figures in a comparison website as you need your consumption for the whole year.

However as you seem to be about an average user I would enter 20,000kWh gas and 3,000kWh electricity to get a comparison.

You will certainly get cheaper prices on an internet tariff paying by Direct Debit.
