I have fruit in the basket ...does that count?

As long as there are always at least 5 palm size pieces in there such as an small apple or 10 grapes.

I personally buy the fruit (which is good enough for me) then chuck em in the supermarket bin to save the additional effort of carrying them home

Ooh I've just realised I've had a portion of beans for breakfast -coffee beans.

So that's one, I'll have a few more portions of those today plus a serving of tealeaves ;)

Then there are the dried apricots that are in the white chocolate and rice krispie squares I made with Dd yesterday (had to make some more at 10pm last night as OH and I finished the first batch off) -that must be at least 2 portions.

Gosh I don't think I'll need anymore fruit and veg today :j

And don't forget carrot cake, banana cake and courgette cake.

Please be careful Thriftlady that sounds like you are going over the top to me - could you balance it out with some ready meals?
  • I've been struggling to get my 5 a day lately and took a while to work out an easier way to get on top of this. So, here are my top tips:

The raisins in a Tracker bar.
    Tomato ketchup on my chips.
    A packet of Opal Fruits.
    Cherry coke.
    A slice of lemon in a G&T.

I hope that helps. Anyone with more easy ideas, please include them below. Thanks.
We only allow children to eat fruit at breaktimes at my school. I recently had an interesting breaktime conversation with an 8 year old who earnestly assured me that the fruit chews were obviously fruit and so allowed.:D

    What about...

    Orangeade
    Limeade
(only the glow in the dark varieties of course)

Squash - orange lemon and pineapple flavour - there's 3 in one glass!

It's a well known fact GR that raisins ONLY count as one of 5 a day if they are COMPLETELY covered in chocolate.

Eat 5 choc covered raisins and you are done!
