I have a query..as i understand it caims are based on earnings for last tax year...if i were to do tht then nothing would be payable.....yet my wife will not be working for the forseeable future..this would bring current earnings below the qualification level for year beginning april 2008....is there anyway they will take current earnings into consideration?

If you income DROPS considerably (as mine will when I'm made redundant) you have to advise them or they might have overpaid the previous year.
Have you advised then of the drop in income?0 -
Its a question of ....last years figures being too much to claim...but circumstances changing from the tax year starting 2008 tht due to my wife not being in work our income drops substantially..but of course they look at the previous years earnings0

You apply using the previous years incomes, then when you get your award notice you ring them up and give them an estimate of your current years earnings and they will reassess. HTH0
