Please advise –
As a pensioner I would like to buy occasionally from ebay items up to say £70
I would like to join paypal but I am feared to give my main account details in case of fraud, should I open another bank account and Just keep £80 in for ebay – what sort of account is best – who from – and do I
need a credit or debit card for paypal.

Just register a 'Personal' Paypal Account & add your Credit Card to it.
You do not really need to add a Bank Account unless you wish to sell or withdraw funds from the account0
