Anyone know about storage?

We've got a big problem with DFS. My partner ordered 2 sofas before he met me and we started making plans to move. We've delayed delivery until about September (they wouldn't let us cancel it and have said this is the best they can do)

So when they are delivered they won't fit up the stairs into my Flat, and we're not going to move them into his until we sell and then move them again, it makes more sense to store them from the start. Plus the plan is to sell his, move into my flat and save some more deposit during the winter months. Hopefully then in February we will be cash buyers with no chain (My flat is rented and on a month's notice)

We've got one quote for storage at £194 per month, and to be honest we might need to put a couple of extra bits into it like wardrobes etc from OH's place, so the idea of using the space offered in Grannys 3 storey empty house seemed a bit cheeky to accept.

Does anyone know of any alternatives or great storage companies that might look at a deal? £194 per month will pay for another set of sofas eventually and it seems a lot!

I would Yell and Google and compare prices. It seems to vary greatly depending on where you live. I was surprised to see that for one company I looked at http://www.safestore.co.uk/ the prices varied between £68.83 and £138.92 for the same size storage for two (non-metropolitan) depots within 30 miles of each other.

My DH is manager of a storage centre, he says if you stand the sofas on end, then they should fit into a 75 sqft unit with your wardrobe and bits which he currently charges approx £125 a month for, but thats in Staffordshire
