Ruined slow cooker dish

May I just say I am now embarrassed at all the posts I make about how I keep messing up
I had one of the free multicookers from La Redoute about four years ago. It is essentially a very small slow cooker that was ideal for me.
But I stupidly put the nonstick inner dish into the DW and all the stuff has come off and rusted rather alarmingly, so I know I can't safely use it now.
It fits the base and exactly, and nothing else will fit the same, making the rest of the multicooker useless.
I contacted La Redoute but they say it was too long ago and they don't make them anymore (and I was sure someone only recently posted about them too!)
Any suggestions? It's such a shame, it was so small and neat and perfect for what I wanted and I had to ruin it...

I know the dish you mean, the non-stick lining on one of mine (yes, I have 2, both from car boot sales for £1 or £2 each) is a bit loose so I decided to give it a good scrub and got the residual lining off it (just at the base, the sides and rim were all fine) and use it as it is. Will yours smarten up with the aid of a Brillo pad?0

Sort of simular may be a help!
I have a cast iron frying pan which rust if not coated with oil after washing.
Could you not clean all the non-stick off and then use it like that. Just an idea.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

If it's the same one as I've got then I've got a spare pan - you're more than welcome to it...shouldn't cost a lot to post. Let me know if you're interested."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Could you put a glass dish inside the ruined one and use it as a lining?"This site is addictive!"

I would love to have yours Pooky, I would pay of course. Was yours also from La Redoute then?
Failing that, I will have a go at scrubbing off the nonstick and rust, but quite a lot of it is left so it will be a bit of a job.
I don't think I could get a glass dish to fit - it really is dinky...but its all something to consider.
Thanks!0 -
I've dug out my spare one - will take a photo later for you and you can see if it's the same one......don't worry about postage - nice to be able to help."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

I'm surprised La Redoute say it isn't available now - I got a free one with an order a couple of months ago. They also sell the griddle plate for £2.99 in their catalogue - so if you hadn't been able to get a new pot then you could have used the base with one of those, rather than chuck the whole thing away.
I've seen a few on Ebay for around £3-£5 plus postage, but as you've been offered a free replacement cookpot then you can't beat that, can you?
Aren't MSE'rs brilliant!
Oh and thanks for the warning about the fairly delicate coating - not used mine yet but will be extra gentle with it!
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Here
This is the one I've got (it's honestly not dirty - just amazing what the camera flash does!!!!) It's around 7.5" across and 3" deep....if it's the right one pm me your address and I'll get it in the post tomorrow - got some ebay stuff going so I'll slip it in with all that."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. That looks like the one that's needed!
My 'good' one is as nice as this, I use that one for sweet things such as rice puddings etc, and the tatty one gets used for casseroles, I'm so sad that on odd occasions they are both working at the same time.
Pooky - it was really good of you to pass it on to Badgergal...MSEers are brilliant, I agree :T0 -
I have a Redoute free slow cooker, I love it... but watch you don't burn the bottom - difficult with a slow cooker, I know, but not impossible if you are as daft as me - I put it on high to heat the food up, and forgot to turn it down.... so the food got burnt on, and I couldn't shift it no matter what I tried....
Then I had a brainwave - I soaked it overnight in vanish (the stuff you use to get stains out of clothes). It worked like magic - shifted the burnt stuff... and TOTALLY DISSOLVED all the non-stick it came into contact with...
So now I have a neat silver and black bowl, which rusts unless I keep it real clean and dry... might try wiping it with oil, thanks for that tip....
