Barclays: looming disaster

This is about a current account, despite appearances:
A year ago, I succeeded in opening a cash ISA with Barclays. To enable me to manage this on-line, I opened a current account with them, an account that I have never used.
So this year, as an existing customer, I opened a new cash ISA with them on-line. The only option for funding it was by transfer from my Barclasy's current account, which at the time had a zero balance. The only glitch was that although the form says you can open the ISA with any amount over a pound, the web form kept on giving me error messages until I typed in the maximum amount (3,600). So I have effectively given them instructions to open the new account by transferring funds from a current account that has a zero balance. Presumably the transfer is to happen on Monday morning, the first working day of the new tax year.
Today, for unforeseen reasons, I found that I cannot get the required money into my Barclays current account until the end of the following week. So I need to amend the transfer instruction. So I went into my local branch, where a delightful young woman called their ISA centre and sat with me 'on hold' for the best part of an hour. At which point I decided I had better things to do with my day.
So, since I have made my best efforts to contact them and amend the transfer instruction, are they still allowed to charge me if/when the transfer fails?

Call Barclays Online Banking Helpdesk and they will cancel the transfer for you until the funds come into your account. Call 08457 555 555 and ask for online banking.Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!
As D'Ream would sing 'Things.....can only get better'!!!0 -
You can cancel this yourself on line - go to the drop down box on the left hand side on the online banking and theres an option there that says view payments (or something similar) this will list any standing orders or direct debits and future dated payments. You can then dlick amend which goes on to say cancel. And you can cancel it yourself and save yourself the phonecall! :j0

Thanks for the advice.
I had already visited a branch, and the transfer instruction is not set up on any system to which branch staff have access. The strong implication is that it cannot be accessed by on-line or telephone banking: it is simply an instruction that is held by the ISA team. Anyway, on-line banking is down so I can't check, and I suspect that telephone banking rely on the same systems.
Someone from the branch did manage to speak to the ISA team. They consider it "highly unlikely" that the transfer will take place any time soon, but cannot find my application in order to amend the amount.0 -
