Electrisave - Anyone got one?

I would like to try and reduce my electric bill. At the moment I am with EON. I do not understand the different tariffs and which one would be the cheapest and we always seem to be in debt with EON. I am looking for other ways of reducing our bills and have started to switch off most of the equipment before I go to bed like the TV and the computer. I have also got those eco balls for the dryer which have helped with drying the clothes quicker.
I have found one of these on EON website and I would like to know if anyone uses them. https://www.eonshop.co.uk/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductCode=ESAVEPACK&Category=5
It is called an Electrisave which tells you how much money you use on electric and it helps you cut back on the money that you use. This is priced at £50. I find this expensive for a little box that you put to the meter and tells you how much you are spending on electric.
Has anyone got one? did it help with reducing your bills and is there anywhere else I can get one from at a lower price.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

There must be scores of threads on the Electrisave - do a search for 'electrisave'.
Some electricity companies give them away!
Has its uses, but IMO a £6 power measuring meter from Lidl/Aldi is far more useful.
Certainly I would never pay for one.0 -

HI
I've got one...hubby works for E.on so got it free. It really makes you aware of how much things cost. It will only help you save money if you turn things off. It's a good game trying to get it as low as possible.
You can input the amount your electricity is per unit (kWH) and away it goes. I've only had it since christmas so have only had one bill and at the same time we started to send in actual meter reading rather than just going on their estimate
They sent me a letter yesterday saying that my monthly direct debit can reduce from 66 to 33 a month. (Large 2 bed semi., 2 adults, 3 kids) So i must be doing something right.
The meter says we tick over during the day at about 8 pence an hour. Then on general each appliance (all A rated) add about 30 pence an hour, even the new tumble dryer! the worst is the electric shower which is a staggering £1 an hour to run. It makes you have fast showers!! At night with everything off except fridge and freezer and 1 landing light it's at 1.3 pence. if it's not then i know something is on.
I would recommend them although you may be able to get them cheaper online somewhere.
Hope this helps.
