Transferring cds to ipod

Hi i wonder if anyone can help please.

I have been transferring cds onto itunes and ipod however occasionally when i put a cd in the artist and album dont show and it just comes up track 1 track 2 etc. They are genuine cds not copies. Any ideas why this is happening?

it it doesnt change after 5 minutes and ur using xp, rip using WMP and then add album to itunes that way. used to happen to me on the odd CD. but always recognised in WMP.

You need to be connected to internet to retrieve track names for the CD.
Sometimes the Gracenote Database which itunes uses just doesn't have them listed.
You can download another programme from here which uses another database.
It might give you more of a chance of getting the names.
