I see WatchDog are currently moaning about Warm Front. I have to say that it worked great for us. We claim child Benifit and applied using an easy ap form on the net. Within a couple of weeks someone was round to assess and a couple more weeks we had CWI and Loft Insulation. House is much warmer.:j

EAGA and the contractors they use appear to be getting more benefit out of the WarmFront scheme that the people it was intended to benefit.:mad:0

I have just had my offer of 2700 but the work is going to cost 3270 warmfront want 640 from me and because I am on benefits I cannot afford this at all
I think this seems very steep we are only having a new boiler located in a different position maybe 3 metres away from original position we are not having any new rads as they are all ok the only reason they are doing this is because my old boiler the stat broke and I called them to repair it when they came out they went on about legislation and that my boiler was too close to the kitchen sink. By old boiler is only 5 years old and works perfectly but the stat does not but they would not move it despite the engineer saying the boiler I had was a better one than the one they would replace it with so the only option was to pay to get it fixed myself which I cannot afford or get warm front in and they replace it but now I am being charged cant win! so looks like another year of a heating system that has to swithced on and off manually all day :mad:Mortgage overpayments 2008 (started August) £3000 -
I believe the chargers the contractors charge are in some cases extortionate. There is also chargers for the service which eats into the grant you can get.0
