Clarion cdc634 6 cd changer manual ejection

Hi there

I have one of these fitted in my car but have changed the cd/radio as it was not working. The cd changer is now not connected to the radio but I have cd's still in the cassette and am selling the car. Is there a way to manually eject the cartridge or a way to temporarily power up the cassette? I don't have the old radio anymore, so can't temporarily fit that.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Unscrew it and smash it to pieces and hope the CD's stay in-tact?

  • Some have a manual eject mechanism. Look for a screwhole you can insert a screwdriver in to turn a gear.

Otherwise, remove it and dismantle carefully. They're simple enough devices.

You could also enquire on the internet as to which pins on the plug are 12V and ground - connecting them to a battery will power it up so you can eject the cassette.

Thanks very much. I was hoping to be able to leave it intact for the new owner to use if she wanted to fit a compatible Clarion stereo, but if I can't, I can't!
