Hi All,
Is the discount that you see on the comparison sites based on staying with the supplier a year?
So if you moved supplier you would lose the discounts being offered. Do I have this all wrong?
I have compared the units and although there is a little saving its not very much!
Cheers.

The comparison sites usually show you how the discount is applied.
Some do it on a daily basis, and you get the discount off each bill, but you are right, others only give it as a lump sum credit on your account on its anniversary each year.
In that case if you leave before a 12 month anniversary, then you won't get the discount earned during that part year.0 -
The only exception tends to be if you move homes and the new home is already registered with them as some Suppliers will just move your discount between addresses/accounts and show no interuption. However, any gap in your Supplier being the biller to your property and you lose out as you have officially left them in their eyes.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0

As far as I'm aware its only really Npower that give you the discounts (£84) at the end of the year, Utilita have a £15 "loyalty" bonus thats paid anually too.
Apart from them I believe the other companies apply discounts quarterly.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
