Tvael Insurance Queries

Im looking to get travel insurance for the first time. I've read the article and done a few comparisons. I have some questions.

So far I have 4 trips planned this year, all europe. The problem is they are all with different number of people, of which some I'd like to cover and others just myself.

Fristly I have a family trip, there's 6 of us. 5 Adults 1 child.
Another trip is to cover both myself and girlfriend
the other 2 trips are just to cover myself.

Whats my best bet here. Everyones saying get multi-annual but to cover the family trip, it's costly, £200+ Whereas just for myself or a couple is no more than £40.

This might be naughty but could I just say do the multi-annual for 2 or 3 people. (2 adults 1 child) then say if anything were to be stolen or lost etc.. claim it as my own possession or someone on the policy even if it actually belonged to the 4th , 5th or 6th family member?

How would that theory work if it was a medical issue and the names on the policy didnt match upto the adult invovled in the incident?

    Ok, slight update.

Im sure I heard about a certain provider where you insure a single person but anyone (family) they travel with is also covered. Is this different to policies where you select more than one person? Specifically price wise.

If you do what you propose to do in post 1 - one of two things will happen - you will either end up in jail for fraud or you will be paying back the biggest loan you can imagine for the rest of your life if it goes wrong.

Insure yourself and family with an annual policy - anyone else should get their own.

Thanks, pretty much as I figured. One thing I'm still not clear on, as per my last post. Insuring myself and family are there two approaches to this? The one method I've seen is to select family members by adding them individuall on the policy. However is there not a single policy which automatically covers family members?
  • Yes you can get policies for mum,dad and normally 2-3 kids (up to 18 in most cases) almost everywhere.
Any other member of the family or friends would need their own policy.

if you wanted to get a couple policy a lot of insurance companies insist the couple must live at the same address in order to qualify....

and any other family i would get their own policy its such a difficult area and you have to be honest if your not honest then like said before insurance wouldnt be valid and you could face a fraud charge. Individually somtimes works out best particulary if you have lots of different family members involved and they have different requirements and ages etc...
