Adding a Buy It Now?

I've got a customer interested in offerring a fair amount for the blackberry i'm selling (got pics of teh IMEI clear on the box, and phone), but you cannot add a buy it now once a bid has been made, can you? There was a buy it now on there at £150, but its disappeared o.o Would I have to end the item and relist it with the buy it now price? Thankyou ladies and gents for any help x

As far as I'm aware, when you start a BIN/Auction together, when someone puts a bid in the BIN disappears so that's what's happened here.

IMO if that is correct, BIN's are only worth it when you don't have an auction on too.
  • tell the person who wants it to bid on it then end to highest bidder, i think this way is a bit naughty though as i think the only way you can add the extra on is to add it to the postage costs which could be seen as fee avoidance - but whos going to tell ebay?

I was pondering about listing another listing, with the buy it now on, then letting him purchase that way - he's offerred to pay by bank transfer, which is good :) Just need to give my account and sort code, correct? Thankyou all :D

  • sounds a bit too good to be true - offering to pay such a high amount by bank transfer. are you really sure they are genuine?

Hence why I said my paypal is problematic, bank transfer is safer isn't it? Have copies of IMEI pics on phone and such, my other half says to go for it, but i;m being very paranoid and posting lots here because i'm unsure.

  • its definately safer for you, if they are genuine then it sounds like they will be the perfect buyer, but no experienced ebayer would pay by bank transfer for such a high amount as for all they know you could take their money and not send the item.
