Hi.
I have been given a Thomson Speedtouch 716v5 WL wireless modem.
The modem was used for cable but I do not have cable.
What I would like to know, please, is can I use this modem with my talktalk broadband. If I can what do I need to do.
I do not have any of the original discs that came with it.

The Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 is good. Its can be had from http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk There are cheaper ones and reviews to help you choose. Brian.0 -
How do you connect to TalkTalk? If your modem has an Ethernet port, you could connect it to your free gift. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

The modem is wired and I connect it by usb.
I think the modem has an ethernet port.

Please could you explain how I could connect the two.
I am hoping to be able to connect a pc which is not wireless enabled and a laptop which is wireless enabled.
Thanks.
If your modem has an Ethernet port (unlike you, I don't think that it does) you simply connect them together using an Ethernet cable. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Looking at the modem it has two wires one is a phone line the other is a usb so I think that you are right and it doesn't have an ethernet port.
Would I be able to run a wire from the laptop that I am using now to my old pc so that I can use both at the same time.
