LLoyds Tsb bankers draft charge...

Hey, not sure if this is entirely the right place for this post so sorry if its not. I have just been charged £20  for a personal cheque to be made out at one of their branches because i was opening an ISA with another bank and had forgot my chequebook! :o Is this allowed and am i just being unreasonable? I had a cheque or bankers draft made out at a building society last week and was not charged a penny... I dont like being charged for withdrawing my own money, is there anyway i could possibly claim this back or is it just charges for going ovredrawn etc? surely it doesnt cost £20 for that little bit of paper? Many thanks for any help!

  • I would tend to agree with Al Mac, apart from saying that, if it was the branch where your account was opened that I am surprised they did not ask whether you wanted a counter cheque, otherwise a bankers draft or cash would have been the only alternative or direct transfer if you do your banking online and this method was allowable.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
