Spammed links to auctions

I just received an email which passed through my spam filter and was a link to a current eBay auction. The seller has been a member since 2002, is in the UK, and has a 100% positive feedback of over 50.

Now, either this seller is spamming email addresses, or someone is trying to blacken the seller's name by pretending to be them spamming. Either way, is there a hope in hell's chance of eBay doing anything about it? And if so, which category should I report it under? I'll send them the complete email including headers.

The best people to deal with this spammer is his ISP, many ISPs take a very dim view of their users spamming.

ok - the address appears to come from Pipex so I've sent it there. Thanks.

I've also reported it to eBay, which does have a spam reporting facility if you can find it: the "Report spam" link on http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/rfe-spam-ov.html is circular, so instead you have to open up the Additional Information section and follow the "report" link there.
