I wonder if anyone is aware of any banks that upgrade their Basic Bank Account customers to Current Account Customers based on their history with the Bank and how they have conducted their account, rather then just using the credit check system? Both myself and my husband have got Step Accounts with Natwest crediting over £1600 a month in one and £700 in another. We have 2 Satisfied CCJ's and several satisfieds Defaults yet Natwest still refuse to give us a current account due to our credit history. Any suggestions?

I'm not stalking you nor am I a Citibank marketing employee! BUT I am sure they'll give you a full current account with a cheque book and full Visa debit card. If you search this forum, you will find that many people who were in similar situation to you were accepted by Citibank.0

Thanks Skyrider007. I did apply to them last week and have received my forms to sign and return so fingers crossed they might solve our problems.0

HSBC were happy to do an upgrade for me, although my circumstances were different. Go in and ask them if, if you managed a basic account well, you could get an upgrade.0
