I wondered if anybody has recently opended a Lloyds Basic Bank Account. Myself and my husband can only get a basic account at the moment and have been looking around to see what sort of debit card we will get. I have looked at Lloyds website and it says they will issue you with a Visa Debit Card (the new version of Visa Delta). I was under the impression that basic accounts will only offer a Visa Electron or a Solo card. Can anybody confirm the type of card they have received with their basic account from Lloyds. Thanks

My dh has a basic account with them he was given a cash card to start with it was updated with a visa debit card a few weeks later. Problem being is he can still only use it to withdraw money at the Lloyds cashpoints to withdraw his cash. But i guess it isn't too much of a problem for as we live near one.In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.0

I cannot answer your question but I can recommend you Citibank which will definitely issue you a full Visa debit card. They are also quite lenient to people with history.0

I have one, and you get a Visa Debit card, not electron. But you can only withdraw from Lloyds Machines.
You can however, get cashback at supermarkets etc.0 -
I also have an account with them of this type, the only downfall is the cash point usage is restricted to Lloyds TSB machines only, however, speaking to an advisor earlier today has revealed that they are going to stop this and give full use of the card at link ATM's. Oh by the way, they also record monthly credit status with all three agencies, it is listed as a current account and not as a restricted account so i think the pros outweigh the cons.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Thanks everyone for your advice and information0
