Redundant Accounts

Hi guys,
I'll be opening up a new current account soon with A&L to take advantage of their 10% ISA for new customers. To meet their £500 per month deposit conditions for the c/a i'll be having my salary paid into that account making my natwest account now totally redundant (as I've also moved my ISA from there since their rates are shocking).
Is it recommended to just keep accounts open that you don't need or is it recommended that you close them and re-open in the future if they end up offering products in the future that are better than elsewhere?
Cheers for advice on this.
