Hi, I am after some information on what I can use to scan and clean my computer up. I was randomly looking through some folders in my ‘Program Files’ and found links to stuff (Downloads etc) that dated back from more than 2 years ago, these where all only small links of what I had done. But I wonder if there is other rubbish on there that I don’t know is there and would like to get rid of. As well as anything that could cause my computer to run not at its best.

I'd recommend downloading a trial of tuneup2007, run all the optimisations (inclding cleaning your disk of rubbish), then deinstall it again

CCleaner(Crap Cleaner) is free to download and use.
I've also used IObit Advanced windows care also free.
If you havn't got an antispyware program then Superantispyware is free as well.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

CCleaner free and it cleans Temp > Internet History>Cookies Temp Files memory Dumps .and more .
Use the registry part of the tool to clean registry take the option to back up the files you fix .
When installing CCleaner it gives option to install a toolbar dont tick if you dont want .
You may find that after running a cleaning tool you stil have bits in download folders etc that have to be deleted by hand .
