Dumb question about sky tv and virgin

Well basically our phone line is screwed and BT have told us we need to pay £180 for a new phone which were obviously refusing!

So were looking at going to virgin for phone and broadband.

If we were to do this could we run the virgin phone line into the back of our sky box? We need to have a phone line because of multi room but will no longer have BT after this week.

Does the fact that its a virgin line make a difference?

yes, no problem. I have had Sky and now Sky+ with Multiroom and my phone line has always been Virgin (Telewest before the change).

    Brilliant!

Thank you for that! We were getting worried as our BT line works for calls but is having big problems with internet. So BT refused to help.

Means I can finally have a decent internet connection

You should definately get a more reliabel and probably faster internet connection with Virgin. Depending on how long you've been with Sky it may be worth looking at Virgin for TV as well as it may be cheaper if you take phone, broadband and TV from them.

Don't forget Virgin offer VOD - once you have that you will never want $ky again

I have both Virgin and Sky (I know not really in keeping with the :money: MSE :money: philosophy!) so I'm in a reasonable position to compare both. I tend to watch Sky live as it has a better picture (on SD anyway) but anything I've recorded - I have V+, I watch via cable. I do get pixellation though, and audio dropouts on the recordings which can be annoying!

That was supposed to be fixed in the code drop a couple of weeks ago, but we still get the same occasionally.
