Decent bodyshop in Manchester to colour code my Focus?

Hey guys,

In the next few weeks I want to colour code the black bits on my 02 reg moondust silver focus and was wondering if anyone could recommend a bodyshop who could do this for me?

I have already thought of doing it myself but I am not good at painting and I have no room in my house to be doing the coding.

Once again, many thanks in advance! :money:

    Hi Harvey,

Good news is that I have found the perfect place to refurb my alloys. They will charge me £160 for all four wheels and they are nearby which is great. However a week after I got the quote from them, I found out that all 4 wheels had small buckles in them, when I got my new tyres fitted.

I have to now see if the alloy company can fix the buckles because you can't see the bucles anywhere on the rims.

Now onto the coding. I have rang a few local dealers and they want £500+, this is because they want to replace the old plastic parts with pre-primed parts and they are bloody expensive. I have seen a colour coded focuses around and they look mint. They look a hell of a lot better without the black bits! I jusy have to find a decent place that will be able to do a decent job of it, hopefully someone out there will be able to get a good paint match.

If anyone else knows of a decent bodyshop, I would be grateful! :money:

    Hello Buddy,

I've had this paint shop work on my car and wife's and they're fairly reasonable and the quality of finish is superb.
The guy restores classic cars and have won several competitions with them. You can give him a try and hopefully you'll be as impressed as we are.

The boss is called Tony Carney, also known as "The Rock" of Premier Auto Bodies, Monsall Millm Monsall Road, Manchester, M40 8NQ. You can give him a ring on 01612057924 or 07702252704.

Hope you come back here with your experience and let others know what you think.

Right, got my motor booked into the bodyshop on Friday to get the coding done.

Just one question though. Is the bumper normally a different colour to the rest of the car?

I can see that the person before me has had it resprayed but looking at the bumper from a distance I can see the difference.

The garage wants £150 extra to do the bumper but there is no point doing that if its still gonna be a different colour still if you see what I mean.

    Hmm.....

It will still be different. Ford went thru a patch of having paint that reacted with their plastic bumpers, so they never looked right.

Talk to the guys on https://www.FFOC.co.uk - they all colour code their cars and will suggest somewhere to do it.
