Ebay sellers advice needed

Ebay sellers
I have purchased a hefty amount of what I think is a load of quality Gents accessories stock (wallets & cuff links) and I have decided to sell these items as "sales packs" on ebay i.e. for people to buy to sell.
I posted the item on ebay on Monday evening (see link)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2996&item=8141738523&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
I had two main concerns. The title of the listing was
one: I had to get across the fact that I was selling
wallets & cuff links, but also that people could buy
them to make money. I'm still not sure if its "right".
I was also torn re: pricing. Basically I am looking
to recoup £50+ per sales pack, and I originally
intended to put them on at £50 as a Buy It now price.
This would also enable me to push the 'make money'
angle further i.e. by setting out the potential buy and
sell prices clearly: you pay £50 for the pack but you
can make £100 by selling items at e.g. £5 per credit card
wallet, £5 per cuff links, etc.
In the end, however, I decided to go with the auction (with a Buy it Now option) to see what would happen.
As it stands, very little has happened - I didn't
exepct to get a load of bids with 4 days still to go but
only a few people have looked at the item thus far and I
am now wondering if it looks a bit "dodgy" to be
selling stock that originally retailed at £265 (true)
with a starting price of less than £30.
I would be very grateful if you anyone take the time to
look at the ad and let me know what you think. Its
not too late for me to change it given that I have yet
to receive any bids! I also have a lot more "sales
packs" to shift so any hints and tips would be more than welcome
Thanks

Hi
Just had a look and they look pretty good but I think you
have listed in the wrong category
you've listed in boys accessories whilst you'd probably get a lot more interested in the mens category.
Are they a 'name' if they are that would increase interest.
best of luck

Agree with Debs wrong category think you will struggle here.
You will need to thoroughly check where individual items are listed ie wallets and secondly cufflinks then pick the appropriate one. Might have to pick a second category (increased cost!). Or in wholesale section?
Where did your RRP come from? Some will be sceptical!
Brand name also a plus as Debs points out.
Pricing on e-bay is a real bu**er. Iam having the same problem in theory lower the opening price the more interest in the item = more bids = higher closing price.
But you do need to get hits, will be hard to judge after being on this forum.
The items I am selling are currently not getting enough hits which is a worry.
You will just have to play around with it and check results hits v bids v closing price.
Good luck0 -
Thanks for your advice
Have now revised the category so that the item is the men's section - good spot!
Fingers crossed and thanks again
Good luck with your selling0
