Pregnant is she?

Well - this links to an anthology of Welsh poetry for the big occasions, Weddings and christenings and funerals: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Geiriau-Gorfoledd-Galar-D-Geraint-Lewis/dp/1843238209
But if you're not hot on your meanings and spellings get someone to take a look the piece beforehand just in case! The Welsh-language board over at Maes-e.com is really helpful if you're learning Welsh too, as there are many contributors there that will be willing to help you out with pronounciation etc.
Pob lwc!
P.S. The one from N.Z. Isn't great :-(0 -

Me neither Ali! :embarasse ;-)
These wedding thingies are a minefield anyway, don't see myself getting more involved than I have to! :rotfl:0 -
Hello Welshlamb,
I got married last May and ended up phoning a few welsh registry offices up to get ides. A couple of them even sent me some things trough the post - they were really helpful.
We used a piece in the end that was a translation of a piece from Captain Corelli's Mandolin - it was beautiful.
Good luck!

These links might help:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxford_Book_of_Welsh_Verse_in_English
Lists poems written in Welsh, translated into English ( so you can read what they are writing, then just get hold of the original Welsh text), and Welsh poets writing in English.

Got this from maes-e:

Try the book 'Geiriau Gorfoledd a Galar', the printers are Gomer, and the collection is by D. Geraint Lewis.
The collection is suitable for all occasions, from church and civil marriages to gay marriages.

The bard Dic Jones has also written a poem entitled 'Priodas' ('Wedding') which is popular. I don't have a copy, but someone on maes-e might know what book it's from.0 -
Sorry, same book as recommended above on Amazon link.
How about looking at something from the Mabinogion? There must be something in there somewhere..........................
Or you could read the Biblical Song of Songs in Welsh (gets a bit racy in places!)0
