I haven't got the same chair, but have you tried pulling the lever outwards and then moving it up or down. Some seats have that type of mechanism to prevent accidental operation.

Just pull the lever up but make sure it's pushed in first. If you pull it out, that unlocks the tilt.

It's the same seat as I have.

Hmm...if it's not in the lock position it is loose although it's not that tight when in the lock position. Pulling the lever upwards no matter what position it's in (locked or not) should raise the chair.
Make sure you've assembled it properly as the lever acts on the centre of the cylinder, that connects the base to the seat, which raises the seat.

Failing that, it's broken in that case.

Irisrose - I have one where the lever appears to be loose but you need to pull it up to where it appears to "stop" and then exert a decent amount of pressure to pull it up even further (it will feel like you're pulling too hard at first). Any joy?

    Did you assemble it correctly??

The lever acts on a button in the middle of the centre post (which the seat rests on).

Tip it upside down and see it the lever is in the right position to act on this button when lifted.
  • Dont sit on the chair, pull the lever, and then expect it to go up!
    I can spell - but I can't type
