Paypal thinks I'm laundering money - HELP!

Well a little update, yesterday money started going out of my account very fast, so it wasn't a mistake it went in. In addition the password to my email account was changed, and the secret questions. So I had to get it completely reset by putting in a report with google, and when i got it back I discovered some filters had been set up 4 days ago, so that email off paypal, ebay or this persons own email address went straight to my bin, presumably so I didn't work out what was going on. I've had to cancel all my cards, and put a total block on my paypal account, so it can only be used if i call off my home phone, get a code, which is valid for use for an hour, in order to make a payment. I then get an email today from the address that originally put money into my paypal, saying his account had been hacked, and the money would be taken off me again. Well this will be a fun one to work out, since about half the money was spent again the next morning.
They also set up a halifax bank account in my name, but halifax say they cant give me detials of the account as I do not know the security password and it would violate the data protection act, even though they admit this account was opened without ID and is registered in my name, with my details!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Did live help have anything to suggest before that all started? My TV is broken!

Dinah, can I ask about you commenting on google? is your email address Gmail? as My sister had a similar thing, someone had hacked into her Gmail account and set up a filter to forward all emails with ebay in the mesage and title aswell as sender. Then he had new passwords etc set up on her paypal account. Luckily I knew how to sort it all out for her and get it stopped, but he had listed several cars which were ringers amongst other things. She didn't even know anything about filters but using a gmail account myself on a daily basis I sorted it all.
Seems like quite a few people I know are having problems with hacked ebay/paypal accounts which are using Gmail.
As for the bank account, if the account was set up in your name and you have stated that it is not yours then they have to investigate it by law due to money laundering etcRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Thank god that ebay only allows paypal these days, as it's the only safe way to buy and sell....."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Live help was for ebay, so unfortunately as it didn't seem to link to ebay I couldn't use them. Gmail have no help whatsoever, and paypal's phone help wasn't open at the time. Obviously the 24 hour society hasn't permeated the internet yet! Paypal advised me to freeze my account, then today have asked me to register a card with them to give them £13 as this came out the fraudsters money not my own.... yep, can't see me registering a card with them again, wonder if they'll take a cheque?! :rotfl:
yep Rustyflange, it's a gmail account, sounds like a very similar thing happened with your sister as with me. Today when I tried to log on I couldn't, don't know if that means the password was changed again, but after resetting it, again, all my messages had gone, along with all my contacts.
Now I think about it actually, why are paypal still emailing this address, I changed it to one that can only be accessed from a certain computer in a certain location for safety. Wondering if this is still the scammer, and that was why I couldn't get on my email address tonight. This is absolutely rubbish, I suddenly find myself yearning for the days of quill and ink and carrier pigeons.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
