cat problems on car

we had our mot done last year and they replaced the cat on our car we were told that it would make a rattle noise until it settles this has not happened and has go worse .

can anyone tell me if this is normal
iam going to ring them but just thought someone might be able to advise as to what the problem maybe

    Cats don't rattle unless they're knackered or the heatshield is loose.

    no its lies...a new car doesnt rattle until it settles

    ive found garages will sometimes say this in the hopes that you never bother getting em to fix it

    i have rung them today and there going to check it out wednesday hopefll free of charge as i did metion that is was the cat that was making the noise as from when i drove it from there place till now
