I Hate Spammers!

Sorry, just having a rant here.

My local junk/spam folder has tens of thousands of spam in it today (not counting the 100s of 1000s my ISPs spam filter has in it). And presumably as my ISP's spam filter is working overtime on my account, my genuine emails are taking several hours to get through...:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Some spammer has used my domain name as the return address for a mass marketing campaign. So my local spam folder is full of failed deliveries.

However, the problem stems, from the hundreds of genuine, "Out of Office" etc replies, that because they've come from a genuine address, stray into my inbox.

If I ever catch one of these spammers....

You know what we should do, is fill in all the phishing email's bank details with fake but plausible details, so we waste their time while they try duff information!

It's the reason why I use so many email addresses on my own domain. Of the over 300 specific addresses (on my domain) I have, I get maybe one or two to my personal address per day at most (one I only give out to friends, unfortunately they're the worst culprits for virus infections and not using BCC). I don't use any spam filtering. Once you're able to give a unique address to every company you have much better control and each email address loses its importance (i.e. you can stop using/delete it without impact on receiving genuine emails).

OP I am guessing that you have a catch all email address set up hence why you are recieving all of the bounce backs and out of offices.

I had the same problem last year the only way around it was to turn off the catch all and make sure all address that I actually use are set up. Its a bit of a pain but the only way.

I hate the thought of thousands maybe millions of people reciving spam that looks like its from my domain, made even worse by the fact the url is my name!!!
