Vodafone Business Broadband

Just been helping a mate tidy his email setup.

He works from home and now has the above service supplied by his employer (small and miles away).

I've got his work email set up all O.K.

I then persuaded him to set up a Gmail account for personal use.

The problem is that he cannot send using Gmail, I think I've heard of some isp's blocking this.

Can anyone confirm or deny that Vodafone Business blocks gmail?

Why should they block gmail? This is not the People's Republic of China where they (Gooooogle) have done a "deal" with the government.

Old news Orange and Vodafone block Skype

Cheers aknot, lots of talk, but I can't see anything definite.

My gut feeling is, Not blocked, and I've missed a tick in Outlook Express.

I use Thunderbird and am probably a bit rusty when it comes to OE.

-double checked that the port numbers were correct, user name/email had full stops and not commas, (more haste etc), ssl boxes were ticked, then noticed that the box on the server tab "My server requires authentication" was not ticked.

Now all sorted, :o:o:o:o:o
