Can someone run the meaning of that past me?
I assume that, whatever it is, I can plug a new 'HDMI' set into a digital aerial socket...?

Not sure what you mean by digital aerial socket. You have your aerial socket for terrestrial signals to come in and that's always been a coaxial socket.
HDMI is the high definition connector to plug in different high definition sources such as HD sky box, blu ray players, DVD upscalers, HD games consoles.
