Bit of advice needed please

Brother is looking to sell his laptop as just purchased a new one.

What kind of price should he be expecting to get for it?

1 100mbps Ethernet Port
4 USB Ports

1 S Video Port
Multi Format Dual Layer DVD Drive
Gateway System Recovery DVD Included
6 Cell Lithium-Ion battery - very good life ( 4 hours plus normally) and barely used.
Plug connections also included

Approx 18 months old

    Considering you can get new ones for £250 and that spec new would be around the £300 mark, I would say you would be lucky getting £200 for it. I have found it better to break laptops for parts and sell on ebay. You can normally get a lot more than just selling it as a whole.

    CPU 20-30
    Heatsink 10-15
    Keyboard 15-20
    Hard drive 30-35
    optical drive 15-30
    trackpad 10-15
    battery 30-40
    plastics 5-20
    psu 15-20
    mainboard 40-50
    RAM 10-15
    etc...
    So the lower estimates = £280 higher esitmate may pay for your new laptop!
