What kind of price should he be expecting to get for it?

have a look at finished items on ebay should give you a realistic idea of what people will pay

Considering you can get new ones for £250 and that spec new would be around the £300 mark, I would say you would be lucky getting £200 for it. I have found it better to break laptops for parts and sell on ebay. You can normally get a lot more than just selling it as a whole.
