DFS Kool leather sofa -is the price the price?

Options
Hi#

want to ket the "Kool" modular sofa at DFS but not in the sale. Is the price the price or can you haggle down. Doing 4 years interest free at minute but not sure whether to do this or just pay (can you pay up early if sign agreement?).

Also does anyone know where they source these sofa's from and if you can buy direct.
Thanks

From what i've seen on tv, they seem to have permanent sales so they are likey to get reduced.

If you do a DFS search on here and you'll get the views others on the company and the goods.;)

I have a friend that works at DFS, his job all day and every working day is repairing their suites, that should tell you something about DFS quality.

They always have a " Sale " of sme description, and they always have interest free, otherwise they would never sell anything.

our 1st sofa was from dfs and was really good quality, we gave it to dad and 6 yrs on still looks new and the cushions havent skagged.

our 2nd sofa also dfs, leather, nightmare, had it repaired several times and last month they put foam into the cushions as theyd gone flat and uncomfy in less than 18mths. well theyre going flat again def not good quality and would highly recommend you avoid dfs i know i will next time. cant wait till my interst free is over so i can get a new sofa from elsewhere

I'd try haggling.. the price is the price with the interest free factored in.. you pay cash you should pay cheaper.
My sofa was from SCS, £1200 for a three seater one of the most expensive ones they do, I didn't ask for credit and got £200 off...

ahh i paid cash and didnt ask for anything knocked of :o

Had it just over a year and its already looking worn out , cushions sagging etc.....and i aint fat so its just poor quailty.

I already brought a replacement from else where , a sofa should last longer then a year...but i really cant be bothered to hassle DFS about it.

Only good thing about it was it was really comfy and big , so big that i had to remove a window to get it in...so also make sure you measure correctly before getting one from DFS i find there sofa quite large compared to others

I know some people hate DFS and similar shops but we have been looking for months now for a new suite. Think we have been to every sofa shop in the Belfast area possible.

We have seen the 'Sparks' one in DFS and its our favourite. Its not in the 'sale' at the moment but I know as soon as I order it, it will be:rotfl:

Does anyone know if their 'sale' items are due to change soon? If so then I will wait just in case.

Any advice (apart from not to order from them LOL)

    TIA
(PS - I have also seen one in Argos but concerned about not being able to try it out before buying, can you return? )

I wonder how they make a profit with all these fantastic sales on. And I'm sooo shocked to hear tales of indifferent quality. I need to take one of my 75% off pills.

they make money as they cut back on the quality and by using cheaper materials and labour. most their sofas have cheap foam cusshions now which dont last long.

i also suspect they inflate the "before" price so your not really getting it half price

"Another reason they can afford to sell cheaper is that the frames are inferior materials compared to years ago."

Spot on by toots. If the frame is cheap you can guarantee the rest will be. Lift one end of the three seat sofa - it the other end stays on the floor leave it alone.
