Flights to America and help planning a holiday

  • Your best bet would be to book the flight in advance. Typically here in America the closer you get to the time you want to fly the higher the price. Booking the day or days before will end up meaning paying through the nose.

    Thanks for all the advice.

Another question.... if i wanted to fly from Salt lake city to LA would i be best booking the flight here in advance or booking it in America?

I do this route quite a lot and usually it is cheaper to buy it over there, often Delta do last minute deals from slc to one of the airports in LA and that can save a fortune but it can be a risk waiting.

One of the cheapest airlines for the flight you are after is http://www.southwest.com

Delta and SW seem to be having a bit of pricematching going on at the moment-I saw a $25 sale from Vegas to SLC recently so keep checking and if you see a bargain grab it.......and Yoni_one get off the internet and go PACK woman !!!! :D

BTW, travelling long distance on Amtrak with a bed is likely to be very pricey. With just a seat, NYC to LAX is about £90, but with a sleeper seat, it goes upto about £280 each - plus, it will take you about 3 days to cross the country
