Movie software help please

Hi, I hope this makes sense lol.
Basically, i've got a boxing clip (avi) and when they are doing the ring entrance, I would like some sort of software which allows me to 'animate' by putting an arrow up on the clip with a name so I can point to and name someone in the clip.
Has anyone got any ideas of a name of any software which might be capable of doing this please?

windows movie maker? you will probably already have it.

Thanks i've already got that, it allows you to put up title screens before and after the clips but I want to actually write on the clip if that's possible lol. I can't see an option to do that on WMM. x0

If you go onto titles and credits in moviemaker, 'Title on selected clip' is the third option down.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
