Over 5 weeks ago I ordered a top of the range Sony 'big' telly. Payment was taken for it straight away. Order confirmation indicated delivery would be within 4 weeks. Not heard a peep from them since. Order status online still shows just as 'order received'. Emails are ignored and with telephone calls, after playing the press the first number you think of game, I end up sitting in a queue with nobody ever responding. OK, so they were the cheapest around at the time but I now want either a firm delivery date or I want my money back!!!! How on earth do I go about it when they refuse all communication????
The numbers I have been ringing are
08445 617000
08445 616263
Aaaarrgghhhh again!!!!

Apparently emails take 7 days for a response as I've had equal problems with getting an issue resolved, letter was sent Friday so am now awaiting a response.
You could try 08445611234 (there is a freephone number on say no to 0870) and choose option 5 to make a complaint. Its answered fairly quickly but you may not get much response out of them.2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0 -
tbh, ring them and press any number to get through to someone.
then let rip that you want a refund for item not received etc, you think the service is poor..blaa blaa blaa..0 -
Thanks for the replies, have taken them all on board.
Just found out that they have now reduced the flipping telly on their website...... double aaarrggghhhh!!!!!!!0 -
I always press the button relating to the "I wish to place an order" option - they always tend to be answered the quickest!"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0

Ooooh [STRIKE]sneaky[/STRIKE] what a good idea!0 -
Did you pay by credit card? If so contact the issuer and advise item paid for and not received. That might stir someones backside into action at Currys when the chargeback is intiated by CC company.0

At long last...(after hours of chanting along with 'all our operators are busy... ), I got through!!! Only to be told that they are still waiting for stock to arrive from the manufacturer and that they have no idea when that will be. Ha, so much for 'delivery within 28 days'
Now, to add insult to injury, I've noticed that they are still selling this item on their website and at a lower price! I've also found out that the TV is available on next day delivery and matching the reduced price from at least 2 other suppliers.
What I would like to know is..... am I within my rights to cancel my order and insist on my money back as they have broken their contract with me by failing to deliver within the stated time...and am I sure of getting my money back?? (Or is oldagetraveller's way the way to go as I did pay by credit card) Ideally what I would like to do is order from one of the other companies, thereby saving some money and getting an immediate delivery.
I've never had anything like this happen before so am unsure of the right way to approach this.....and as its such a lot of money I can't afford to make a mistake!0 -
yes you are you can cancel your order if they have not delivered .

Also the distance selling regulations state that Currys should only charge your card when they're ready to dispatch the goods.
SO, get a refund and order elsewhere, or reorder when they have the stock.0
