Curreny Account - Advice please!

Hello all.
I've been banking with Abbey for many years and am now fed up with their shocking customer services and attitude towards customers so thought I would take action by saying bye bye and closing my Current Account.
I'm looking for a new bank for my current account. I don't really use the internet to bank, and don't particularly want to pay a monthly fee as I've had a look a a number of these accounts and can't see any that offer value for money?
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Alliance and Leicester are good, I dont have any problems soo far, there premier direct current account gives you 8.5% AER interest on you balance.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

I thought you were asking about currency accounts.0 -
Alliance and Leicester are dreadful. Problems I had were, difficult to get through to customer services on the phone and when I did, the person was nearly always less than helpfull. Website could be better. Like the account balance figure actually matching the sum of the transactions shown. After 6 months, your eStatements get zapped. It takes ages for anything to happen (eg. 2 weeks for change of address, 10 days for tax certificate of interest). Transactions take a day longer than normal banks (money in & out). After a year, the wonderful interest rate on the direct current account plummets. I was so glad to leave them.
Now with HBOS with the high interest current account. Can use online and via Halifax branches. No monthly fees. Customer service that help (and answer the phone).0 -
