Hi tallie.

I too am in debt. But I've decided to put paying it off on the back burner so I can concerntrate on saving then renting in 3 months time or so.
Can't afford to buy at the moment and too be honest I don't want to right now (maybe I'm subconsiously tricking myself :rotfl: ) but am looking forward to moving out! :T0 -

I know its a funny thing to deal with but... If I was you I'd really try and get to break even point first.
Once you get a mortgage its a big outgoing to be combining with your "other debts" outgoings.
I'm not living too frugally, having some treats but not going out nearly as much and it helps.
For me its really hard saving for a house, proposed to my OH 2 months ago and bam... weddings are devasting to your finances...even small ones like mine heh. Still it only happens once... at least i hope

I confused myself in my post! I meant to say I'm renting in 3 months or so! :rotfl:
I know I'd be better clearing the debts but my priorities after 2 and half years have changed and now I need to start living again.

I think that would be a real pity to, if it actually happened, fortunately it doesn't happen around here. Occasionally someone will come up with a bit of a harebrained scheme about using their credit card for a deposit or borrowing an unfeasibly large amount of money that they would be unable to pay back with even the slightest change in their circumstances. Those people tend to get the holes in their plans pointed out to them.
As a FTB I've picked up loads of invaluable advice from the people here who give freely of their time and knowledge. Because of the knowledge and understanding of the process of buying a house they have given me I've been taken seriously by estate agents and had my very low offers considered and one finally accepted.
You are going to be mostly told to go away and save more but that's no because anyone is anti first time buyer, it's because that's the best advice anyone can give a FTB at the moment.0
