Ryan Air, infant tickets more than adult!

I'm considering booking some Ryan Air flights, and have found some bargain tickets for 0p! However, i have a toddler whose ticket on the same flight is £10.

Anyone know of a way around this? Could I buy an adult ticket for my 18 month old, or would I run into trouble?

Thanks!

Your adult air fare is not 0p. Include tax and it'd come to at least £10 at the moment through their promotion, if not more. I believe infant ticket is £10 all in, so you arent saving any money by buying additional adult ticket.

I have asked this before on a ryanair cheapie (1p) to Dublin. somewhere in their t & c's it states that you cannot buy a seat for a baby under 2, so you will have to pay the full baby fare. From what I recall I had to pay £14. (edit....seems it was £10 after all...)

If that's true for ryanair, it's not true for all other airlines.

We used to routinely buy a seat for our DD when she was under 2 on bmibaby and thomsonfly, because it didn't cost much and gave us extra baggage allowance, as well as being able to put her in her own seat other than taking off and landing.

    see t & c's here

For safety reasons infants under the age of 8 days cannot be accepted for travel. Children aged between 8 days and 2 years as at date of travel cannot travel in their own seat and must sit on an adult's lap. The charge for carriage of infants is £10.00/€15.00 (or local currency equivalent) per infant/per one way flight (maximum one infant per adult). No baby/car seats are allowed in the cabin of the aircraft. No extra seats may be booked for infants. Infants do not qualify for any baggage allowance

It makes sense that ryanair don't allow it, because an infant occupying a seat is stopping them selling it to someone else who is more likely to buy extras from them and also the parents are more likely to be charged for excess baggage.

I asked about this when I booked our tickets with ryanair in Jan (going to Italy in april) and they said about the safety reasons. the £10 is all you have to pay - no taxes to include. our flights were 1p each and we paid £7 each way for our toddler and the whole price with the taxes came to £128 - £14 of which was for infant carriage.

Thanks for all the replys. It's a weird one, but I guess it's swings and roundabouts...just looking for ways to save an extra quid here and there!

    All booked now.
