Sneaky ways to save the pennies

If you have a favourite beaded necklace that breaks and you can't repair thread some of the beads onto a shorter piece of elastic and make a bracelet from them. I also thought that this might make a thrifty pressie for little girls [not under 3]

just been on holiday, stripy tesco villa(shame they are stopping this Individual Traveller deal!)and used my Boots points to buy a lunch deal each for OH and myself at the airport, usual price £3.49 which included a large bottle of water each so saved by not having to buy water on the plane at cost of £2 for a small bottle.(cursed the terrorists on way home as had to pay £3 for 2 small bottles)0

Not sure if this has been posted here before but have to trial some well known brand facial wipes at the mo. Not v eco friendly and dont take your makeup off effectively but they smell lovely so used one used one in the washing machine and it helped to fragrance my clothes lovely.
Anyone got any more tips as to what these can be used for rather than landfill clogging? Thanks. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
My Mum has a whole stack of these facial wipes. Once she's used them she washes them and then reuses them instead of tissues for small people like my son who have long since lost any hankies they might have once possessed. She then rewashes them

I took a sample of wallpaper that I really liked from Homebase when I was trying out different ideas for redecorating our spare room [still haven't decided] but have not come to the conclusion that it's not suitable. I now think that I will use it as part of the mount for a picture that I'm planning. If it doesn't get used for that then I shall be wrapping a parcel in it. Seemed such a shame to waste it

I used to do that too. I went down to the local decorating shop so often when I was a kid that the guy that owned it gave me odd rolls whenever I went down there.0

Pity it didnt do the job of actually cleansing my face. I dread to think of the amount of these type of products clogging landfills as loads of people seem to use them. I had full makeup - foundation, powder, concealer, mascara, eyeliner and blusher on and not a scrap of it came off on the wipe no matter how much I scrubbed.(I'm the type who likes to see the dirt come off.) I have tried wipes before and had the same effect. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
My kids school still asks us to cover school jotters and usually suggests left over wallpaper.I once used a fab and groovy pyschedelic print roll I found in a cupboard at their nana's house caused a laughing fit in the class but interesting social history on bad taste!"Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0
