Debit card cashback

I've applied for the egg money card on Martins recomendation and intend to switch from using my debit card for my routine purchases.
I know they will charge me for cash withdrawals so was only going to use it for purchases, but then it occurred to me I use my debit card occasionally for cashback from retailers.
Hope it isn't too much of a silly question but is cashback available this way with a credit card and is it then classed as part of the purchase and not charged for or is it classed as seperate to the purchase and best avoided?

No mate, you cant use a CC for cash back, unfortunatly.

Not sure, but I dont think Egg is a bank account so it cant function like a Debit card?

Proliant is correct, the option for sales assistant to ask you if you want cahsback at supermarkets does not come up with Egg Money card. Technically, it is a credit card.

There is no possibility of supermarket cashback with it, unfortunately. I investigated this quite thoroughly when I first got the card!

you can't get cashback

but you don't get charged for withdrawing cash from an ATM (and obviously you aren't charged interest if you are in credit )

So does the egg money card [i have this card but not used it yet] act like a debit/credit card
can you pay other bills with it like credit/store cards if your allowed to get cash out does the
interest start straight away. and is it a different rate from the purchase rate[mines 16.9]

It is a credit card and retailers treat it as a credit card.... so you can use it anywhere that a CC can be used. If a normal CC can't be used then the eggmoney can't be used.

Its not a debit card.

however, if its in credit then you can withdraw cash without a fee or any interest being charged (obviously) and of course you earn interest on your credit amount.

Scrap that last part of my post above.. If you have a + balance your in debit on the EM card so drawing cash out is free but if your not in debit and using their money[Credit] is it still free and at what APR??

Hi, my understanding of the Egg card is that it is a card that gives cashback on certain purchases, rather than you being able to withdraw cash at the checkout.

there is no fee for withdrawing cash whether you are in credit ot debit.

they only have one (debit) interest rate.. so it whatever your rate is (it varies from person to person )
