Possibly moving to Berlin, Germany, advice needed!

Not sure if this is the best place to post this question but hopefully someone will let me know.

My husband has been offered a very good job in Berlin, Germany. We are now weighing up the pros and cons of moving. Neither of us speak German (mine is basic, my husband's non-existant) and we also have a 1 year old baby (he doesn't speak anything yet, let alone German).

I just wondered if anyone on this forum lives in Berlin and if so, how much it cost them to transport their furniture over there or if anyone can offer recommendations of good removals firms who ship to Europe and how much we can expect to pay?

We don't have a great deal of furniture as we are renting and live in a fairly small flat.

There are literally hundreds of bureaucratic questions I need answering but will do so as they come along...

If anyone can offer any general advice about moving abroad please do give it.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi
I lived in Germany for 2 years and was in a similar situation as yourself, the new company payed all the removal expenses and they usually sort out all the bureaucratic questions. The German people are really friendly and helpful.
The Healthcare system is excellent I had my first child over there! You will be entitled to kindergeld similar to child allowance which is worked out on your previous years income in Germany which will be nil hence you will get the max which for us was about £300 per month and that was 17 years ago!
The language shouldn't be too much of a problem as you will soon pick it up, I found it amazing how little language you need to get by to start with in our automated world; we all use cashline machines, don't speak when we shop at supermarkets and buy train ticket etc at machines.
Public transport is so easy to get around with a baby no folded up of pushchairs etc.
    Good Luck
