Travel insurance for 16 year old son

He is going abroad on a youth scheme this summer for four weeks. The scheme he will be on covers basic medical and baggage insurance but I want to take out extra insurance for cancellation etc so he has full cover.
Problem is, my dh had an angioplasty last summer, which I know counts as a pre-existing medical condition for when we go on holiday although he's fine now. Don't I need special cover for my son due to this? Have looked at some of the companies which cover people with pre-existing conditions but they don't seem to cover teenagers going away without an adult. There will be adults, just not us!
Many thanks for any advice.
Louise

it can be difficult getting cover for an under 18 travelling alone, so maybe try BIBA.

possibily the only way you're dh's angioplasty may effect your son's policy is if he was a hospital in-patient/outpatient in the last 12 months.
