search intermittent

The search function on my pc has gone on the blink! :mad: I am using firefox and running xp. What happens is this---
I enter a search in google which goes ok, but if I go back to the search box to refine it , then click on search again, nothing happens.
l have to close the window and start from scratch to change the search :eek:.
Can anyone help me with this problem please:D

Does the same thing happen when you use internet explorer?
Is the version of ff up to date?
I guess you are using the google search bar, if so try re installing that if the answer to the questions are yes and yes, or you do not want to use ie.

Hi-my f/f is up to date :Dand I don't use the google search bar because I had grief with it:eek: I haven;t tried in IE yet as I can't pin the problem down I just need some fresh input--woods and trees etc :rotfl:
